The dominant England skip the schedule - BBC Sport
England beat Ukraine 3-0 but will not automatically qualify for the 2027 Women's World Cup. This was due to Spain's 6-1 win over Iceland.

England beat Ukraine 3-0 on Tuesday, but it cost them dearly as they miss out on automatic qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup. The Lionesses needed Iceland to help them in another group match, but Spain ran out 6-1 winners in Reykjavík. As a result, Sarina Wiegmann's side will have to go through to the play-offs, which will see Spain qualify for next year's World Cup in Brazil.
Spain are top of League A3 group, thanks to their best ever title in the title race against England. Both teams fell against each other, but England won 1-0, but Spain won 4-0 last Friday.

"Competition is very high in Europe," Wiegmann said. "It was great that we won the Iceland tournament. We need to confirm our fundamentals in that tournament."
England's future depends on their success in the play-offs. They have to play against European teams in two rounds. England are seeded in the first round and face either one of the League C group winners or the two top-ranked League C runners-up teams. The first match of the second round will be played at home to England.
In the end, England need to ensure that they progress in the play-offs and the reason for that is that they need to increase their data in the ranks. England scored a total of 15 points, but they could not hold on to victory against Spain. "We feel a lot of gratitude and sadness," midfielder Georgia Stanway said.
