Argentina have made a last-minute call-up to Tottenham's new signing Marcos Sennesi for their FIFA World Cup 2026 squad after Leonardo Balerdi ruled out through injury. The 29-year-old Ceneci, who played 39 games for Bournemouth last season, has made three appearances for Argentina since 2022. Argentina face Algeria on Tuesday in their Group J opener; Then Austria and Jordan also meet.

Argentina have made a last-minute call-up to Tottenham's new signing Marcos Censé in their final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ceneci, who joined Tottenham on a free transfer from Bournemouth on Wednesday, received the call-up on Thursday before kick-off.

The change follows Leonardo Balerdi's withdrawal from the squad after sustaining an injury during training. Ceneci made 39 appearances in all competitions for Bournemouth last season, making him the club's most capped outfield player and leading the team with 1,839 successful passes.
The 29-year-old defender has made three international appearances since making his debut for the Argentina national team in 2022. World champions Argentina face Algeria in their Group J opener on Tuesday, followed by Austria and Jordan.
