As part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 (USA, Mexico, Canada) promotion, England beat Miami FC 6–0 in a friendly behind closed doors. Arsenal young star Ethan Nwaneri grabbed the attention by scoring for England.
In the England camp coached by Thomas Tuchel, Nwaneri has been part of the reserve team in preparation, although he has yet to feature in official matches. In that opportunity he was given minutes in this secret tournament and his netting added strength to the camp.
Although the details of this match are scarce, Ivan Dhoni is believed to have scored a hat-trick. Jordan Henderson and Liverpool youngster Rio N'Umoha also scored.
The England team will move to Kansas City this weekend for the next phase of their World Cup camp. Prior to that, it was reported that Nwaneri and other supporting players who were called up for training were to leave the camp.
The 6–0 victory indicated that the team's rhythm and goal-scoring determination had improved. All in all, the result has given England good confidence for World Cup qualification and the group stages.
