We had a good game in the middle, but there was a little nervousness when we conceded a goal in 10 minutes; however, we played with a lot of character. That goal caused us a bit of a distraction, but we all know the capabilities of this team. It's beautiful to score goals, but really, we are one team and we are happy to win." Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic said, "This match was difficult; we wanted to score first. Things were difficult because we conceded a goal, but we won well, which is the most important thing. We are still not as much as we wanted, but we are addicted to it. Now things are better; the main objective was to get through a difficult round – we always have difficult rounds – but because God gave us energy, we have gone to the next level, which is really important." Now Croatia's opponent in the Ceder round will be Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal side, who were held to a 0-0 draw against Colombia.
