Massimo Coda on Sampdoria: "I'm most useful in a team that wants to win"
Massimo Coda is leaving after two seasons at Sampdoria. Coda, the Serie B goalscorer, has expressed his desire to join a team that aims to win and will join before pre-season if a new team is confirmed soon.
Massimo Coda bids farewell to Sampdoria after two seasons. The winger, named Serie B's top goalscorer, has decided not to extend his expiring contract. In an interview with an Italian media outlet, Coda, who looked back on his time at Genoa, insisted that his potential will now be fully utilized in a team set up for success.
"It has been a difficult two years; the fans here and I cannot accept the situation where the relegation struggle has continued. I will always help the team that I want to win the most," he said.
Coda scored a total of 17 goals in two seasons for Sampdoria. He also reminded that more could have been achieved. "There's also the goal in the play-out against Salernitana, which, although not in the record, was huge for our defence. We didn't create many chances in the first year, so we didn't do as well as expected," he said.

Coda, 37, born in 1988, is looking for a new team. "No official call yet. But to join the team before the pre-season starts. Early training with teammates will help him improve his fitness immediately," he shared his future plans.
Coda is adamant that age doesn't affect him. "When I played with confidence in the first six months of the season, I proved that I am at this level. I can score 15 goals in a team that aims to win," he said.
He is also clear on personal goals. "We have to go step by step without rushing. The goal is to reach 160 goals in Serie B," concluded Coda.
