Leonardo Simplici: "Palestra would have fit in well at Inter; let him continue playing at Chelsea"

In an interview with Radio Sportiva, Italian coach Leonardo Simplisi shared his thoughts on Marco Balestra's move to Chelsea over Inter.
"It's a big result for the young man. I read that there were enough assurances from the coach; that may have influenced the decision to go abroad. Unfortunately, the championship there now is more important than the Italian series," Semplici said of winger Palestra, who completed an excellent loan spell at Cagliari.
At the same time, "I would have liked to see him at Inter; the style of play there will bring out more of his character," Semplici lamented.
Of the Premier League, he added, "Experiences there are key to development. Being in an environment where you have to play against quality players every week will help you grow, mature and develop. But the fundamental thing is getting consistent game time."
Meanwhile, Balestra is sure to have chosen Chelsea over Inter. Now it's important for him to get consistent opportunities and prove himself on the England stage, Semplici insisted.
