Group G: Results - Belgium, first place with five goals; Egypt drew in a tough match
Belgium and Egypt advanced to the next stage of Group G of the 2026 World Cup with their victories.
At the 2026 World Cup, another round has come to an end in Group G. In such a balanced group, Belgium leads the way. Rudi Garcia's Belgium had a poor start, but won the crucial match to advance to the next round. They beat New Zealand 1-5. Trassart scored a brace and the 'Italians' De Bruyne, Lakagu and Salemekers scored. Just, from New Zealand, eventually scored a goal.
Egypt drew 1-1 with Iran. Saber scored in the 5th minute and then Racinean equalized in the 14th minute. In the end, Kalizadeh's goal was disallowed. With a 1-1 draw, Egypt and Belgium both have 5 points, but Egypt is second by a narrow margin. Iran, though in third place, has a chance to advance to the next level.
