Raphael van Derwaard review: "Vantik's performance is as sluggish as a Boeing 747"
Raphael van Derwaard has criticized Van Dyke's performance, comparing him to a Boeing 747. Jurgen Klopp voices his support for Van Dyke again.
Even after the Netherlands' 5-1 win, debate continues about team captain and defender Van Dyke's performance. Liverpool's centre-back has not been at his best in the opening round of the cup. "I don't know his slow turn; it reminds me of a Boeing 747. He has to move fast," Van Derwaard noted. He said he had planned for Van Dyke's performance in the past and called him "a disgrace, a hardship" in the 2024 European Cup defeat to Austria.
In response, Netherlands coach Jurgen Klopp said, "I don't think it's enough to talk about Raphael van der Vaart. The day he makes a good comment about a player, I'll take him seriously again. He likes to express his opinions very colorfully."
