Switzerland advanced to the round of 32 of the World Cup
Zeki Amdouni's Switzerland moved into World Cup contention with a 2-1 win over Canada, finishing as group winners.
Burnley forward Zeki Amdouni scored in a 2-1 win over Canada in Vancouver as Switzerland advanced to the knockout phase of the World Cup. Amdouni, 25, has made just one appearance so far, coming on as a 79th-minute substitute in Qatar's second Group B match in a 1-1 draw. And with a 4-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina, a win over Canada saw Switzerland finish as group winners. Amdouni, who has 30 senior saves and 11 goals, is currently in Vancouver to face the third-placed team in a group at the World Cup in the round of 32.
