Egypt and Uruguay wins in 2026 FIFA World Cup
Egypt recorded their first World Cup win against New Zealand. Uruguay and Cape Verde ended in a draw, and Belgium and Iran were goalless.

Egypt eased to a 2-0 win over New Zealand in the 2nd round of the 2026 World Cup, with Mohamed Salah bagging a goal and an assist. In another match, a 2-2 draw between Uruguay and Cape Verde, Cape Verde's Kevin Lenini scored the first world goal in his team's history. Also, there was no goal in the match between Belgium and Iran. In other World Cup events, 44-year-old Serena Williams received a wild card into the 2026 Wimbledon tournament. Also, Spain cruised to a 6-0 win over Saudi Arabia, with Yamal scoring a goal and Oyerzabal a brace.
