World Cup 2026: “Our Group B is not easy” — Qatar coach Julen Lopetegui's assessment
Julen Lopetegui said of the strength of World Cup 2026 Group B: Switzerland have been one of the strongest teams in Europe for the past eight years; Canada is the best team in North America; Bosnia and Herzegovina, Wales and Italy were eliminated. Qatar's first match is against Switzerland on June 13.

Qatar will play in FIFA World Cup 2026 Group B along with Canada, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The head coach of the Qatar national team, Julen Lopetegui, has clearly responded to the strength of this group.

"I don't think our group is too easy. Switzerland is one of the strongest teams in Europe in the last eight years. Canada is one of the best teams in North America, having beaten the USA and Mexico solidly in recent years. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Wales and Italy have been eliminated from the series. Against us, these three can be considered as clear opponents," said Lopetegui.
Qatar's first match will be against Switzerland on June 13.
