Manchester United have reached major milestones in plans for a new stadium. The English premiership club has announced that it has acquired the majority of land required to build a new sports complex in the vicinity of Old Trafford.

The new stadium can accommodate 1,00,000 spectators, making it the largest football stadium in the United Kingdom. The site is 350 meters north-west of the current Old Trafford and covers an area of ​​25 hectares.

With this project, Manchester United wants to not only modernize the facility but also reorient the neighborhood. The plans include the construction of around 15,000 houses and the creation of 48,000 new jobs, potentially up to 90,000 jobs in the country.

The stadium is being developed with the aim of rehabilitating the area and becoming one of the world's leading sports and features hubs.

State director Colette Roach said the club's history should be maintained while building a new building, with the help of players such as Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee. "By building close to Old Trafford, we are preserving the history and traditions that our fans love," he said.
