While the Spanish giants have made a move to regain the midfield centre-back, Paz now believes the time is not right for a return to the Santiago Bernabeu. The Argentinian midfielder worries there is a conflict for places at Real Madrid and wants to continue his development elsewhere before heading back to Mt. Real Madrid have regained control over his future as they have exercised a €9m buyout option, but they have also offered Camo an opportunity to re-sign the Argentinian for around €60m, which is only available until Monday.
The main reason Paz does not want to return to Real Madrid this season is that it will be difficult for him to get playing opportunities there. Importantly, the result was not a rebuttal against Real Madrid. Instead, he believes that in recent times one year has been more effective in playing full-fledged football, then in order to earn a place in Europe's lowest-level teams.
Blair and Camo are keen to extend their partnership after a successful season in Serie A, but meeting Real Madrid's current valuation is the biggest challenge for the Italian club. If Camo doesn't want to pay Real Madrid €60 million, the Spanish club are open to exploring other options.
In addition to this, the main point in the ongoing discussions is to include a new right of purchase in the new contract. This would allow Real Madrid to have long-term control over Nico Paz's future and give the player another season of full first-team football. With the deadline approaching on Monday, discussions between the two clubs will be quickly brainstormed to consider the financial details of a subscription arrangement.
