Spain looking for more: 'we are almost perfect'
Spain beat Austria 3-0 to advance to the next round of the 2026 World Cup. Coach Luis de la Funde and player Miguel Oyersbal have explored.

Coach Luis de la Funde was delighted with Spain's 3-0 win. It was his first knockout win since 2010. In 2014, Spain exited the group as reigning World Cup champions; In 2018 and 2022, it was eliminated from the first tournament in the knockout stage. This causes more joy among the Spain team members.

"We know it will be an important match. We had a plan before the match and we were almost perfect in all dimensions," said de la Funde, on FIFA Channels. "Some small things need to be improved because there is always room for improvement."
Mikel Oyersbal continues to point in Spain, scoring two goals in the match against Austria. "I'm glad I was able to help the team and we're through to the next round," he said. In the next round, they will face either Croatia or Portugal. "I don't care who meets me. I have friends on both teams."
