With wins over CF Montreal and Inter Miami, the Crew suffered a shock loss against Orlando City last week. Next, they lost their latest match 3-2, meanwhile Taha Habrun and Bryce Mendes scored twice to equalise. Right now, the Crew are seven points clear of the flop and have six regular-season games remaining, including a U.S. Open Cup final against St. Louis City this month.
Also, with important matches on the way to progress, Kurtovaz said his players need a good recovery between them. "We have important matches coming up," said Kurtovaz. "We recover, we make sure we save everything, and we have to change some things, especially to face different opponents. We believe in the good condition of the team. To go in that situation in Orlando, to show what they got, to enter the cycle and come out without locks is very tough. Based on their performance on the field and on the field, with the continuity they have carried in the last few weeks, months. We expect against the next match, but first, we will be in recovery.

Players Note
-
Columbus Crew – Taha Hebron: Hebron, who had a goal and an assist last week in Orlando, looks to finish in the win. Only Orlando's Antoine Griezmann (eight) has created more chances for Hebron (six) and he has won six in 11 clashes.
-
Charlotte FC – Ethan Doklomadi: Ethan has 11 goals in total for Charlotte, giving them a chance to lead the way in Dallas. He scored two goals, sealing the win in the 92nd minute, and with another goal assist, created four more chances (second most).
Competition Priority – Equal
Despite the loss in Orlando, Columbus, in all competitions, has won three of its last four matches and just one of its last eight (L7). But one of those defeats came against Charlotte in August; Smith's team lost 3-1. Charlotte has three wins and one tie against Columbus recently. Columbus, however, is winless (W1 D1) in home matches in this series. However, this year in history, Charlotte has 18 points in the Eastern Conference.
