Raphael van Derwaard review: "Vantik's performance is as sluggish as a Boeing 747"
Raphael van Derwaard has criticized Van Dyke's performance, comparing him to a Boeing 747. Jurgen Klopp voices his support for Van Dyke again.
Even after the Netherlands' 5-1 win, debate continues about the performance of team captain and defender Van Dyck. Liverpool's centre-back has not been at his best in the opening round of the cup. "I don't know his slow turn; it reminds me of a Boeing 747. He has to go fast," Van Derwaard noted. He said he had planned for Van Dyke's performance in the past and called him "a disgrace, a hardship" in the 2024 European Cup defeat against Austria.
In response, Netherlands coach Jurgen Klopp said, "I don't think it's enough to talk about Raphael van Der Waard. The day he says something good about a player, I'll take him seriously again. He likes to express his opinions very colorfully."
