PSV–Antwerp 1–1: Nova Fernandes charms at '6' for start of 2026/27 campaign
PSV started the 2026/27 pre-season with a 1–1 draw; Noah Fernandez caught the eye at '6'.

PSV began their preparations for the 2026/27 season with a closed-door training match at the De Hertgang Stadium. PSV coach Peter Bos gave several young players a chance in this 1–1 draw against Antwerp. However, some tactical searches for the upcoming season were evident in the match itself.

Mainly in the '6' (controller) position with Gerdy Schouten out for a long time (knee cruciate ligament injury), there is a vacancy at PSV for that position. In this scenario, just 18-year-old Noah Fernandez stood out in his first match of the pre-season as someone worthy of that responsibility. It can be said that he presented a strong 'profile' for the position in his first game in terms of control, positioning and ball distribution.
All in all, PSV have found some key points tactically in this pre-season focused on young players. Not only was it a 1–1 draw, but the match also provided excitement for tests of the team's balance, especially the midfield formation, before the start of the season.
