I expressed the pain I felt - Marcello Bielsa
Marcelo Bielsa, coach of the Uruguayan national team, gave his explanation to the press after the defeat against Spey (0:1).

Marcelo Bielsa, head coach of the Uruguayan national team, has explained to reporters why he was angry after the (0:1) defeat against Spain at the World Cup 2026. The defeat saw Uruguay finish third in Group H and exit the series.

Bielsa said: "After the match with Spain, I had some obligations against the televisions that bought the broadcasting rights. I had some announcements to make in those moments, which were as much guilt as happy moments. I was eager to answer the questions that I had to answer, but because the questions were dull and my feelings were very painful, I didn't answer them properly," Bielsa said.
The World Cup 2026 will be held from 11 June to 19 July in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Argentina is named as the current champion.
